May God's Way be Found

A few months ago I really started thinking about school and college and such and I've found it very over whelming. Towards the begining of May, I desided that I really wanted to live out my life for Chirst, and not just by going to church every Sunday and being involled in church, but really dedicating my life to Chirst. Espically my life after High School, as I have no idea what I'm going to do besides the fact that I want to go to College. Whatever God wants me to do, I am sure he will tell me in His time, weather it be next week, or three years from now.

Recently, I believe God has talked to me though the music on the radio. There are alot of new songs dealing with dedication. "Aware" By Salvador is one of them and one of my favorites. Chorus:

Make me aware, make me see
Everything I am is not all about me
Take my world, turn it around
So that the obvious can finally be found

Make me aware, make me aware

Another song by Laura Story "Mighty to Save" really touched my heart:

So take me as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I surrender
Yes I surrender

Savior
He can move the mountains
My God is Mighty to save
He is Mighty to save
ForeverAuthor of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave

Chris Tomlin "Jesus Messiah"

His body the bread
His blood the wine
Broken and poured out all for love
The whole earth trembled
And the veil was torn

Love so amazing
Love so amazing

Jesus Messiah
Name above all names
Blessed Redeemer
Emmanuel
The rescue for sinners
The ransom from Heaven
Jesus Messiah Lord of all

All I hope is in You
All I hope is in You
All the glory to You, God
The light of the world

"You Watch Over Me" by Aaron Shust:

You watch over me in the darkest valleys
You watch over me when the night seems long
You help me to see the way before me
You watch over me; You watch over me

Take this frozen heart; awaken me
Never once have You forsaken me

Even though I walk through this shadow of death
You will guide and defend me
You'll guard and protect me
Even though I walk through this shadow of death
You will lead me home

"Your Not Alone" by Meredith Andrews:

You're not alone
For I am here let me wipe away your every fear
My love I've never left your side
I have seen you through the darkest night
and I'm the one who's loved you all your life
All of your life

A Prayer for my Generation

This is the prayer I prayed at youth group tonight as we sang "Give us Clean Hands". This song has really touched me and every time I hear it, I pray for my generation.

Dear God,

I pray that my generation will be the generation that will reach out and seek you, Lord God. I pray that they will not wander off your path into the dark, unknown vallies of this world, but look unto you in their times of trouble and dispare. Give us clean hands. Let us become examples to our friends who don't know you Lord so that they may see your glory, O God.

Amen.

We bow our hearts, We bend our knees,
Oh Spirit come make us humble.
We turn our eyes, From evil things,
Oh Lord we cast down our idols.

So give us clean hands,
and give us pure hearts,
Let us not lift our souls to another.
Oh give us clean hands,
and give us pure hearts,
Let us not lift our souls to another.
Oh God let this be, a generation that seeks
Who seeks Your face, Oh God of Jacob.
Oh God let us be, a generation that seeks,
Who seeks Your face, Oh God of Jacob.

A Verse to Share

Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His Word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who abides in Him ought himself to walk just as He walked.
~1 John 2:3-6(NKJV)

A fellow Blogger posted this verse on her blog today and I thought it fit right into what has been on my mind lately.

Lately, I have been bothered by what I hear others who call themselves Christians say and do, many of which go to the same church. I heard this one girl at school the other day talking about her and her friends getting wasted one Saturday night.

Now, I hear about others at school drinking, but it just shocked me. Under age drinking seems like it is happening more and more in the community I live in and it scares me. I have never drank before, nor do I know many teens at my church that drink or go partying or do drugs. I really wonder about these teens and what they are being taught at their church. I know at my church, we talk about drinking and drugs and stuff and that we shouldn't mess with them.

I really think that it isn't right to go out and drink Saturday night (expically under age drinking) and then go to church Sunday morning. It's like saying to God "Oh, you can just have me on Sunday mornings God, the rest of the week is for me and is my life and I want to live it how I want to live it." I don't think drinking is extremely bad or sinful or anything if you are over the age of 21 and only drinking moderate amounts, unlike the binge drinking I hear about my fellow peers doing. Jesus drank wine and he turned water into wine. But drinking under age isn't acceptable. In the bible we are called to follow the laws set by the leaders of our nations, and they set the legal drinking age to 21 for a reason.

There are many effects of such binge drinking. Did you know that car cashes are the number one killer of teens today? Many of such cashes involve achohol. What would one tell God if they had gotten drunk and got behind the wheel and cashed and died?

Does one who goes out and drink walking in the way of the Lord? No, drinking will never ever get rid of ones problems, it would probably just lead to more problems. Nor is it just a fun "game" to do when you are bored and have nothing better to do. If one turns to drinking to solve their problems, then they are not trusting in God. If one is walking in the way of the Lord then they should be an example for others and show them that one doesn't have to go out and drink to have fun.

Living In Trust

"Without faith, it is impossible to please God" -Hebrews 11:6

This was the topic of the sermon today at church. We watched a video of a guy and he used Hewbrews 11:6 as his base. He comepared it to two paths that went in different directions, one to Please God and the other to Trust God. They both lead to buildings, the "Building of Good Intendtions" and the "Building of who God Wants me to Be" In the Building of Good Intendtions, everyone was "Just fine" and everyone wore a mask to try and cover up their emotions. In the other, everyone wasn't "Just fine" some people where not fine at all and others where happy. The difference between the two groups of people is that the people in the second building tusted God and looked to him in their hard times. They were faithful to God and said "Whatever you want me to be or do God, I'll do it for you".

Which path are you walking? The path "To Please God" or the path "To Turst God"?
